Perreaux has a philosophy when it comes to electronic design, whatever the product - "Less Can Be More".
Our circuit designs reflect this, in as much as, Perreaux products are carefully designed to minimise componentry within the audio signal path.
All componentry used is of highest quality and only included when absolute necessity is established; no component is there
for a free ride or to correct for deficiencies elsewhere in the circuitry. With Perreaux, emphasis is placed on maximum sound quality,
component and unit reliability and long life.

All Perreaux amplifiers incorporate custom designed toroidal power transformers,
employing unusually heavy gauge wire that reduces copper losses to a minimum. An electrostatic shield prevents AC line borne
interference from entering the signal path. The power supply filter capacitors, made to Perreaux specifications, have
exceptionally low inductance and internal resistance. They charge and discharge in response to load demand far more rapidly than
conventional storage capacitors and are capable of delivering the instantaneous current required by the output stages, providing
optimum dynamic range and transient response.

The output stages in all Perreaux amplifiers utilise MOSFET technology. High quiescent current circuitry operates the output
stage in pure Class A to 10W, beyond this point the output is technically Class AB, but with a major difference.
The combination of MOSFET characteristics and their application in Perreaux designs, result in crossover distortion so
minimal that it is virtually non-existent.
