Welcome to the final edition of the Perreaux newsletter for 2014. In this edition, we reveal details of the new Audiant series VP3 phono pre amplifier. Please take a little time to review the images and the attached notes. You would think that 40 years of developing phono pre amplifiers should form an adequate grounding, however we consider the VP3 to be among the more challenging assignments we have undertaken recently.A phono pre amplifier is akin to the highest expression of analogue design and if done meticulously, the results are abundantly evident. More than one year of our best brains and development time has gone into this exciting new product.....I hope you enjoy your new VP3 as much as we have enjoyed the challenge.
I also wanted to take a moment to ask that you take a few moments to read an excellent end of year "Organised Sound" write up by Gary Steel. Gary's writing struck a chord deep in me and made me hanker for simpler times. Abundance of choice is all around us, but it wasn't that long ago that we didn't have all that and we were far more cohesive as a society. We all listened to the same radio station and watched just a few channels of TV and enjoyed the same hit tunes. These times are long gone, never to return. I wonder, I really wonder sometimes what the final form society will take in the years ahead.
Looking for a couple of good old fashioned family movies over the holidays. If you can excuse the profanities, I recommend Australian classic, "The Castle", US classics, The Blues Brothers","The good the bad and the ugly" and heart warming English classic series 'The darling buds of May". Finally the Kiwi classic "whale rider".... all old now...but like a good music track....guaranteed to flood your emotional senses and bring some joy to your heart over the holiday break.
YouTube is an interesting medium and I find myself giving preference to it over public broadcast TV. There are many subjects which interest me, in particular I've enjoyed looking at past interviews with a famous author and philosopher called Ayn Rand. Ayn Rand was the author of books, The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged and creator of the Objective movement. If you have ever wanted to hear the thoughts of a true genius, then take time to listen to a few of the Ayn Rand interviews on YouTube. What an incredible mind she had.
