UK based Hi fi News has just published a comprehensive review of the Audiant VP3 MM/MC phono preamplifier in the Feb 2017 edition.
Our UK agent emailed with the good news to say that the VP3 had received a highly commended badge from the publication and it was almost the highest affirmation that they bestow on a product.
Hi Fi News write:
"There's no shortage of sub-£2000 tube and solid-state phono stages, yet still the Perreaux Audiant VP3 offers an appetising package. This musically convincing performer is able to unlock a great deal of information from the record groove, and from a wide variety of pick-up cartridges. Factor in its fine build quality, attractive looks and interesting user-interface, and it makes a great case for itself."
It also scored a sound quality score of 84%.
Our sincere thanks to our UK agent Elite Audio Distribution
I always marvel at the depth and bredth of test pieces the reviwers play. When auditioning the VP3, the follwing pieces were played.
- Hi-Tension, Hi-Tension
- Yazoo, 'Goodbye Seventies' track
- The Small Faces, Ogdens Nut Gone Flake
- Augustus Pablo, King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown
- Isaac Hayes, Shaft
In particular I recall Isaac Hayes Shaft...classic stuff.... 'Shaft' it is so old and funky funky…it is actually cool again!
