SXCD Compact Disc Player

The Silhouette Series SXCD compact disc player is a two-box CD player designed specifically for stereo music. Inside the SXCD you'll find the latest surface mount technology (SMT), multiple regulated power supplies, ultra-short signal paths and optimal digital and analog circuit design. At the heart of the SXCD is a computer optical drive which provides an architecture that completely eliminates jitter and data timing errors between the optical mechanism and audio converter. The Burr-Brown (Texas Instruments) 8x oversampling, 44.1kHz, 16-bit digital to analog converter (DAC) provides high quality analog output - resulting in a wide, open soundstage with 3D like depth, pinpoint stereo imaging and the authoritative sound that Perreaux is renowned for. A transformer coupled SPDIF coaxial digital output is provided via a 75Ω BNC connector for connection to an external DAC module, a precision master clock ensures this data stream retains very low jitter levels. Remote control is offered by RS232 via the RJ45 pLINK port as well as an RC-5 remote input jack, allowing easy integration into automation and control solutions. In addition, RS232 allows upgrades of the SXCD system firmware. The pLINK port also facilitates the use of an external master clock sourced from an outboard DAC. The small and compact styling of the SXCD is subtle and discreet, allowing seamless integration into existing hi fi audio systems or the perfect compliment to other products from the Perreaux range.
